A nagging conscience...

Yesterday, I was content to vote Republican across the board. This morning as I get ready to leave the house and vote, I am feeling more of an anti-incumbent mood. If I go in and vote for my incumbent Republican Representative, I will be voting for a man that voted with the liberals to pass the Porkulus Bill. How can I complain about the current state of government in this country and then go cast a vote for a man that is part of the problem.

I am a Libertarian if I have to wear a label. I do not want the Dems legislating my financial life, and I do not want the Reps legislating my morality. If I am not hurting anyone else by my actions, then stay the hell out of my life! Let me earn money in a Capitalist economy and leave me alone. If I choose to be altruistic and DONATE my money to a social program to provide for 'the less fortunate' or someone 'trying to get back on his feet', then so be it. If I choose to 'discriminate' (please feel free to look up the definition of the word before you automatically put a negative twists on it), and reserve my expendable income for my own needs, then so be it!

I am feeling Libertarian this morning. I am feeling that, if called out, I can much better defend a vote for a Libertarian candidate that I know very little about this morning, than defend a vote for a Republican that stood up and voted for something I deeply, deeply opposed!

In the immortal words of Ross Perot, "Vote your conscience!"
