The Wuss-in-Chief.

Just in case you had any lingering doubts about the utter  incompetency of our illustrious leader, this past week's actions, or lack thereof, regarding Libya should relieve any of those doubts.

It has been a policy, generally, for the U.S. to get involved in the resolution, or perpetuation, civil wars around the world for as long as I can remember. The administration tends to hit the big-ticket items that the U.N. or E.U. or the Liberal Media tells them to, leaving the rest of the world to fend for itself. I can't think of any intervention that has really been truly resolved. Sometimes, as with Somalia, for example, our government bails right smack in the middle because of social pressure that could affect one's reelection campaign or future book deals.

What I personally feel about Libya is unimportant when compared with how each of the parties is handling the situation. The conservatives are rabid with scent of political blood Obama is oozing from wounds inflicted by his own party. The Peace Prize Winner President authorizing air strikes...The Libs are rabid, too! Both sides attacking the Pantywaist-In-Chief, standing on their respective mounds of hypocrisy.

What I found to be galling was the fact that Obama vomited up all of his usual euphemism-laden, politically correct, Trying-to-earn-my-Peace-Prize bullshit right up until THE FUCKING FRENCH led the way into Libya. Great Britain was calling out Gadhaffi (sp) even before the French went in! Since when is the U.S part of the E.U?

Oh! And please, lets not forget the focus on how much money this offensive is costing taxpayers! If I hear one more word about the cost of this 'war', I am going to retch! All of the money that this administration is spending and printing and spending and printing for the last two years and NOW???  NOW the media starts focusing on the few hundreds of millions being spent on Libya??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? The 'President' has taken whirlwind Apology Tours in Indonesia in the last year that cost more than what has been spent on Libya!!! How much does it cost for that son-of-a-bitch to go golfing in Rio while all of this is going on?

I fight it and fight it, but the fact that we will not recover from the last two years in my lifetime is just that- A fact. And we still have two more years. And if these turncoat Republicans don't get their shit together...I fear there are six years to go...

Reality slap, Anyone?!

A couple of times over the past few days, I have had the misfortune to get sidelined by this Suze Orman or whatever the hell her name is. This morning I was able to change the channel before I had to listen to her speak, but I was not so lucky the other night when she was hawking her line of products on PBS. The encounter lasted only 2 minutes, but it was enough to raise my hackles, and it even triggered a visceral response in my 15-year-old son who happened to be in the room.

An Eight-Month Emergency Fund, a Fully-Funded 401k, No Credit Card Debt, Own Your Vehicle...All very nice ideas in and of themselves. Collectively, nearly impossible. Particularly now. I am sure there are pockets in the country of populations that live this little pipe dream. Certainly not here in the ghost-state of Ohio. (You've heard of ghost-towns? Well Ohio is a ghost-state...Anyway.)

This mornings encounter would have been a segment called "The New American Dream," where the financial guru would have further lectured me on all of the things that I am doing wrong in life. When I saw the title of the segment and then a close-up of her psychopathic smile, I nearly lost my mind. It certainly triggered a violent exterior monologue.

The American Dream is dead. There is no New American Dream.

Now, to be fair, I have to admit that I have a natural pessimism. Always have. This fact makes me and other like me more sensitive to having smoke blown up our asses. Ms. Orman and others of her ilk are profiting not from some innate superiority of their ideas, but from the fear people have when faced with the prospect of financial ruin....

***Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin has just signed the Bill that will limit collective bargaining 'rights' for public sector Unions***

We are all faced with financial ruin thanks to decades of abusive Government and Entitlement culture, the we for whatever reason have tolerated over and over and over. And Ms. Orman wants us to continue living this lie that we have been sold for the last 60 or so years. Be a cog in a wheel in this broken machine. Fund that 401k that the Federal Government will take at least 30% of...Put back 8 months of salary to support you when the Government passes some sort of mandate that causes your company to downsize or shut down altogether. Oh! And the 8 months' emergency fund will get you through about 2 months because the U.S. Dollar will be damned-near worthless. Pay off your cars and credit cards so that your God Almighty Credit Score can actually DROP because you have no debt...Then go try and get a loan for a house!

I support Capitalism, but I have no interest in being a part of this system anymore. Not that I ever really did. Unfortunately, prior generations and the structure of society now prevent anyone from really getting out. It is ironic that a country founded on Freedom and Individuality progressed to support nothing but conformity. We have all picked our boxes, or been forced into them. Now we wait. Trapped, gasping, grasping, foundering, slowly dying. Watching the futures we were sold evaporate. The facade lifts to show the void behind. Regrets for what world we brought our children into plague us daily.

We have real fears, stifled, for fresh water, food supplies, fuel, heat, clothing, shelter. We have real fears of working until the day we die because we were trapped in a system that forced us to work a good portion of our lives to pay for people that were content to live off the government teat. We could not and cannot withdraw into a more self-sufficient state...I have a real fear that the only way a self-sufficient state will be possible is in the rebuilding after the Collapse occurs.

Our reality is dire. Our future is dire. And fully funding my 401k...amassing an 8-month Emergency Fund...that is NOT OUR REALITY.

(Insert clever title here...)

I don't know about you all, but I was very happy to find out that Mel Gibson avoided jail time with a plea agreement, and the Spiderman musical is being completely revamped...

I've yet to get my Charlie Sheen update for the day, and I think I just missed a story about Lindsey Lohan because of a bathroom break, so I don't know the latest on her.

The fact that it looks like our Federal government is headed for a shutdown on the 18th...well, I had to get my Jamie Dupree FB update to get that information. Although, the Big 3 did take a blip to show a story how the Wisconsin GOP basically told the AWOL Democrats to 'shove it' and voted on their Collective Bargaining bill anyway. I am always, always, always intrigued to see hordes of Union members protesting and yelling 'Shame!' If they put a tenth of the effort into doing their jobs that they do into protesting, picketing, and bargaining, they'd have no need to do any of the three.

I do feel badly that the police and firefighters are lumped in with degenerates like teachers' Unions and other Civil Service Unions. From what I understand of the Wisconsin bill, at one point anyway, it was to exclude police and fire from the restrictions on Collective Bargaining. We do have they opportunity to vote on tax levies that affect Public Safety, but you have the Fear Factor that does not come into play with other issues. Public Safety hold us hostage with a soft fist. Vote down a levy and lose policemen. Vote down a levy and lose a fire station. Vote down a levy and lose a medic.

Teachers' Unions...Vote down a school levy and you don't lose teachers so much as you lose programs, bussing, sports, books, computers...And you NEVER lose an Administrator.

So. With regard to the Unions, I will remind you that they are protesting a government that gave them everything they wanted without regard for the long-term costs. Bottle-fed for decades. Now the government is trying to take away the bottle and Unions are having temper tantrums.

SHUT UP AND GET BACK TO WORK! IF YOU ARE OUT OF WORK, YOU PROBABLY HAVE YOUR UNION AND YOUR GOVERNMENT TEAT TO BLAME!

That said...The Governments themselves, who are literally one and the same with Public Sector Unions, need to do some house cleaning of their own. Your salary, your gold-standard life-long benefits...GONE! Our Representatives from top to bottom need to keep their day jobs. You should get a 'modest' (see 'median household income') stipend for your efforts. That stipend should come from whatever money you raise in your campaigns...

Well, my real life makes demands, and the rant endeth here...for now.

For my Lone Follower...

I have been deliberately absent for the last 6 weeks or so in an effort to salvage some of what is left of my sanity and avoid having a massive stroke for all of the political nonsense that has run rampant since the midterm elections.

That being said, I have still not been able to completely bury my head in the sand and ignore politics. What I am missing now is any sort of objective presentation of the news. I no longer pay for my TV, and I have to say that the liberal bias one hears about so often listening to Boortz or Hannity or watching Fox is, indeed, a profound and obvious reality. This week it has been nearly impossible to get anything other than Charlie Sheen stories (after stories, after stories...), or American Idol updates, or inane sound bites of Obama trying to 'organize' peace in Libya. Qadaffi (sp) may as well get on Al Jezeera (sp) and give Obama the finger.

One of the big issues here in Ohio has been the SB5, which, last I was aware, passed the Ohio Senate and is generally expected to skate through the House and right to Kasich who is waiting, pen in hand, to pass the Bill. What has been impossible to find throughout the presentation of this issue has been coverage of anyone in favor of this Bill. Our state capitol has been shown to be inundated with protesters, many of whom are bussed in from other states, and many of whom are members of private sector unions. It is made to look like the vast majority of the State Of Ohio and the country in general is against this Bill. I have literally heard only ONE statement aired on the news in the last 3 weeks from a citizen supporting the Bill. Biased? Naaahhhhhh....

Maybe it isn't bias. Maybe it is just the fact that everybody else IS AT WORK! The rest of us don't get to strike, protest, walk-out, drag-up, and for the Politicians, simply leave the fucking state to avoid doing our jobs! The public sector Unions and the Politicians are the same people. They eat from the same trough. A trough filled with money from OUR pockets. Non-union, non-government wages STOLEN from us to pay at least 40% more to people who generally do less, contribute nothing or almost nothing to their health care or retirement, and who will draw down 90% of their 3 highest earning years, and be availed of Social Security and Medicare for the rest of their natural lives! And if you want to whine about Union dues...That's OUR money, too! You wouldn't have that money if it weren't stolen as taxes first, negotiated into your pay and benefits, and then recycled as campaign donations to politicians who give it back to you, with interest, in the form of contracted wage/benefit increases!

Oh, and lets not forget the non-creation of jobs, the government's total inability to come up with a budget for more than two weeks, the fact that gasoline if $3.50 a gallon...Let's spend some money sending weapons and aid to Libyan Rebels. Realizing of course that if we don't stabilize that area, gas will be astronomical...However, maybe if our illustrious liberal leaders had let us drill for and refine our own oil supplies starting in the 70s...No. No. You Libs are right. You Green Party fruit bats are right. This system we have now is working just fine. It just needs to be "Organized"...That is, after all, why you elected a "Community Organizer", right?

Always making friends.

I follow Jamie Dupree on Facebook. This has been the biggest threat to my health since I quit smoking.

The vast majority of respondents to his posts appear to be Conservative or Republican, but the few that are Liberal are SO Liberal that it staggers the imagination. I have rarely in my life encountered people with an utter incapacity to accept a reasonable logical argument to any point they may have. More often than not these 'conversations' end with my being called any number of names, 'racist' most recently, or I get "What would Jesus do?" These are responses to arguments made by me that I should get to keep the money I earn for me and mine, and then maybe I will be charitable to what people or causes I choose. Arguments that I should not have to fund government programs that facilitate a lifestyle of entitlement for an entire segment of the population that feels they have a right to my money to pay utility bills and buy food, while spending whatever cash they can get on shoes and nails and cell phones and flat screens and cigarettes and handbags and Sean Jean for their 3 toddlers. Racist, right?

I have most recently argued that Altruism should be a choice. To this I got a reply of 'What would Jesus have to say or do about that?" I replied that Jesus is conspicuously absent, isn't he? To that, I received, " Okay, keep your money," and something to the extent of how dare he "suggest that we help each other." This was the end of this. A snotty little look-down-my-nose at you snipe. No argument as to why the government should be able to tax me to give to someone else...

There really is nothing other than blind party-line allegiance at work most of the time. And with a zeal that is truly frightening. Idealism, plain and simple. No logic, no reason, no room for admission of imperfection of thought, no room for Capitalism, no room for independence, no willingness to admit that there is a large portion of the population that is truly abusive of the system that Liberals are so desperate to build and grow...I am willing to admit that the way we are doing things leaves a lot of gaps for people to fall through, but I cannot get one concession that people for the most part make their own beds. Not one. Because it's easier to call me a racist.

In the crosshairs?

Have to wonder now how far speech against the government or any one administration will be allowed to go. Where this mass-murdering fruit bat in Tuscon is legally allowed to say anything he wants, perhaps it would have been prudent to keep a sharper eye on him based on the things he was publishing about himself. The flip side of that thought is who decides whom and what is threatening versus whom and what is free speech. That has always been the problem, hasn't it?

Where I think of this blog as a self-indulgent rant against a government that has run amok with my tax dollars, there are some that would see my comments as hate-filled, vitriolic, racist, right-wing rhetoric and that I could inspire or commit violence because of it. This is, of course, absurd, but not out of the realm of possibility. Where I feel that I make legitimate points about the abuses of the government and those that voted in the current administration, I have been accused of all of the things previously mentioned by those that cannot argue with anything other than name-calling: hate-filled, vitriolic, racist, right-wing, etc. They have no argument to back up the financial abuses of this current administration, they have no answer for the Republican election in November, and now are using the murders and attempted murders in Tuscon in much the same way as they use the word 'racist'.

I have seen comments that go so far as to call the murders 'social justice' and 'a logical response' to desperation and loss of hope! It is absolutely outrageous! To have that mindset is baffling to me. These people who are calling out the Right for their 'hate-speech' can go right on their merry way making statements that justify the actions of this kid! Condoning it, if you will. If the Congresswoman had been a Republican, no doubt the Libs would have made arguments that she had asked for or deserved it for promoting the right-wing agenda and trying to repeal 'Health Care'.

I do firmly believe that Right or Left, politicians are flip sides of the same coin. They draw a paycheck from our taxes far disproportionate to the amount of work that they do, and some of them do it for a lifetime while engaging in morally and/or fiscally questionable behaviors to keep as much of that money as they can. We are relegated more often than not to voting for the lesser of 2 evils. I tend to vote Republican because they promise to let me keep more of the money that I earn. This rarely happens. Independents and Libertarians just do not have the money or the numbers to get into office themselves, but only serve to weight one of the 2 major parties. However, it has become all too evident that the Left, Liberals, Democrats, whatever they call themselves, are frighteningly disconnected from what is reality for the rest of us.

It is imperative that we get these people out of power, AND NOT BY SHOOTING THEM, mind you! Last time I checked, we were a free voting society that has the power to seat and unseat officials with our votes, our words, our minds. Only when a government threatens the freedoms and safety of its own people with force is force a 'logical' response by the People.

Just an aside.

I did not see most of this film. I missed the beginning, and I lasted about 30 minutes before I felt an overwhelming urge to to pluck my eyes out with forks and drive very sharp No.2 pencils into my ears. I knew when I chose this movie from the guide that I was probably not going to last, but I held out hope that there was going to be some sort of objectivity in the presentation. (There may have been some, and I just didn't make it that far.) However, the portion of the movie that I could tolerate was simply a camera crew following a group of Uber-Liberal Hollywood actors who were apparently pimping Obama prior to and at the DNC in Denver in '08.

Poliwood is the name of the film.

To be fair I must give credit to one of the actresses. Anne Hathaway, during the time I watched, was the only one who seemed to NOT have a preset opinion that she had an overwhelming need to voice. She appeared to be objective and very thoughtful about. her political statements overall. I will simply assume by her presence among the Uber-libs that she does have a decidedly Liberal bent in her politics, but I will give utmost respect with regard to her voice, lack thereof, and her composure.

The rest that chose to speak, frequently and loudly and very visibly, were idealistic, self-absorbed, obnoxious, and condescending. Everything that one associates with Hollywood personalities.

So. If you have two hours to kill and a penchant for self-abuse, check this out and see how long YOU last.

And...Back to business as usual...Again...

Forty-eight hours in, and I am feeling all of the potential for this Congress circling the drain. Realistically, nothing was going to get done anyway, what with Obama and his .50 cal veto pen locked and loaded. Now we are seeing what is probably the tip of the iceberg of Republican "yeah, but(s).

I desperately want to be wrong. I really do, because we need "Change We Can Believe In" (rim shot, thank you!) For anyone that is actually paying attention, and especially for those of us that have in desperation pinned all of our immediate hopes for the future on this House, failure of this House is going to be devastating. When I say 'failure' I do not mean failure to produce, because nothing will come from this session of Congress, I mean failure to keep promises. So far, they have done nothing but break promises and flub. Transparency? Fail. Budget cuts? Moderate fail. (They did vote successfully to cut the Congressional budget by 5%). Simply reading the document that our entire way of government is supposed to be based on? Flub. Voting without being sworn in? Super fail.

I think that the Speaker should hold a whip and not a gavel. After all, he is the face of this Session, the voice of the Republican party, and the 'champion' (if you will) of the People. To see his party fall flat on its face out of the gate has to be disheartening to him as it is to us.
